Yellow Pikmin have large ears. They are lighter than most Pikmin so they can be thrown further and higher, and they were recently discovered (in Pikmin 2) to be immune to electricity. In Pikmin, they have the unique trait of being able to carry and throw Bomb Rocks, but the Bomb Rocks seen in Pikmin 2 are much larger and are too heavy to be carried, and in Pikmin 3, all Pikmin can carry Bomb Rocks. They can dig faster than any other Pikmin shown in Pikmin 3.
Red Bulborbs (アカチャッピー) are amongst the most well-known enemies in the Pikmin games, appearing in all the games. The Red Bulborb's original name was the Spotty Bulborb, but had its name changed when Olimar found other subspecies, all with spotted patterns. In Pikmin 3, it is simply named Bulborb, despite the Orange Bulborb also appearing in the game. This nocturnal creature will sleep out in the open, exposing themselves to Pikmin attacks.
