Very old Nude Woman practicing a ritual dance, Hood ornament

Women have been a recurring theme in the bonnet motif of automobiles. Both the car companies themselves, as well as various independent artists have dedicated themselves with dedication producing an almost infinite range of naked, spilled, winged women, Goddesses, angels, and whatever variety is thought. It is that women are an endless subject for our culture and luckily this is so !!!.

The one we offer belongs, without hesitation, to the earliest and most primitive period that has been made to personify women who accompany us from the front of our car.

This strange naked woman is undoubtedly performing some kind of ritual dance, by her posture, by the inclination of her torso, by raising one of her legs, by offering "something" (an offering to the gods?) In her hands , by bowing his head as a sign of respect or obedience. Everything indicates that it is a primitive and wild dance.

On its back, is it hair, or feathers that make up small wings? It is full of questions and that makes it more interesting and alive.

I remember when I first saw this image, on the hood of an old car (was it a Buick ?, a Packard?) ... I can't remember. It was many years ago. I bought it among other things and then I am in a dark attic from my house for years. It was not until recently that, turning a drawer, I found it and it was a crush: I fell in love with its basic, archaic style ... I saw that its shapes did not point to perfection, but were that of a normal woman , with some abdomen and I realized that it was very old (late 10s ??). Look for a similarity with other figures in my image collection (see www.ar, pinterest.com / jmorelli3491) but I did not find nothing like it.

I suppose it is bronze or some alloy. It has a very old patina, accentuated on one of the faces (perhaps the one that was most exposed to the elements). I can give your measurements: 10.5 cm high, x 7 cm wide x about 0.4 cm thick (Important: it is delivered without the base), but I cannot say much more about it. If you see them with my eyes, surely you will love her.

Muy antigua Mujer Desnuda practicando una danza ritual, Hood ornament

La mujer ha sido un tema recurrente en el adorno de capo de automóviles. Tanto las propias empresas automovilísticas, como diversos artistas independientes se han dedicado con esmero produciendo una gama casi infinita de mujeres desnudas, vertidas, aladas, Diosas, ángeles, y cuanta variedad se piense. Es que la mujer es un tema inacabable para nuestra cultura y por suerte que sea así!!!.

La que ofrecemos pertenece, sin dudarlo, al período más temprano y primitivo que se han hecho para personificar mujeres que nos acompañen desde el frente de nuestro auto.

Esta extraña mujer desnuda está realizando, sin dudas algún tipo de danza ritual, por su postura, por la inclinación de su torso, al levantar una de sus piernas, al ofrecer “algo” (¿una ofrenda a los dioses?) entre sus manos, al inclinar su cabeza en señal de respeto o de obediencia. Todo nos indica que es una danza primitiva y salvaje. 

En su espalda, ¿es cabello lo que tiene, o son plumas conformando pequeñas alas?. Está llena de interrogantes y eso la hace más interesante y viva.

Recuerdo cuando vi por primera vez esta imagen, en el capot de un viejo auto (era un Buick?, un Packard?... no lo puedo recordar. Fue muchos años atrás. La compre entre otras cosas y luego quedo en un oscuro desván de mi casa durante años. No fue hasta hace poco tiempo que, revolviendo un cajón la encontré y fue un flechazo: me enamoré de su estilo básico, arcaico… vi que sus formas no apuntaban a la perfección, sino que eran de una mujer normal, con algo de abdomen y comprendí que era muy antigua (¿finales de la década de los 10s??). Busque una similitud con otras figuras en mi colección de imágenes (ver www.ar,pinterest.com/jmorelli3491) pero no hallé nada igual.

Supongo que es de bronce o de alguna aleación. Presenta una pátina muy vieja, acentuada en una de las caras (quizás la que quedo más expuesta a la intemperie). Puedo dar sus medidas: 10.5 cm de alto, x 7 cm de ancho x unos 0.4 cm de espesor (Importante: se entrega sin la base), pero no puedo decir mucho más de ella. Si las ves con mis ojos, seguramente la vas a querer.
