Wooden sculpture from the Black Forest (Black Forest*) representing a character with glasses reading a sheet and wearing a frock coat, his legs forming hooks used to hang the whips and riding crops (whip hooks), period Nineteenth century.


This sculpture is in good condition, it is called a "whip hook" used for riders to store their whips and riding crops. The hooks are in small chamois horn.

A note: the sheet was broken and then reattached, small lack on the glasses, a hook has also been repaired, slight scratches and wear, see photos (see red arrows).

*The carved wooden objects of the Black Forest are not from Germany but were manufactured in Brienz region, Switzerland.
