Leif Ragn-Jensen. Pürsch fra en Jagtmalers Skitsebog. [Stalking: Images from a Hunting Painters Sketchbook.] Aarhus, Denmark: Forlag Aarhus, 1946.

FIRST EDITION, stated. Limited Edition of 600 copies. Illustrated. Danish. The book contains about 50 drawings of wildlife (plus a few dogs) by Leif Ragn-Jensen, considered one of Denmark's finest wildlife artists, renowned for his work on porcelain and china, particularly for Royal Copenhagen.

This book was Leif Ragn-Jensen's first independent publication, and this first edition was originally published in 1946 in a small edition of 600 pieces, 50 of which were signed and numbered. Later reprints were made in 1973, 1977, 1981 and 1985.

NOTE: (From dphtrading.com) Leif Ragn-Jensen was originally trained as a forest ranger, the combination of his immense talent in painting art, and his vast knowledge of animals and birds, led to an excellent series of drawings of Danish animal species and hunting situations. He is considered one of Denmark's best animal painters. Leif Ragn Jensen has illustrated numerous books and magazines on hunting topics, furthermore, he has also been affiliated with Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl (which was merged with Royal Copenhagen in 1987) where he, for several years, drew some of Bing & Grondahl mother's Day Plates, and a series of overglaze plates, consisting of 12 plates with Danish song birds.
