About these stamps:  These stamps were issued in San Diego, California in October 1996 during National Stamp Collecting Month to promote awareness of endangered wildlife.  Fifteen different species were chosen.  

A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847.  Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. These stamps have been designated as Scott Numbers 3105o.
