Item Condition
Item is in good used condition. It does have a few tears, one in the corner and one at the bottom centre. Poster has been folded multiple times to fit into a A4 poly pocket.
Original theatre poster from 1969 advertising ‘Edward II, Richard II’ at
the Mermaid Theatre in Blackfriars, London. The role of both kings was
played by British icon Sir Ian McKellen and helped him to establish
himself as a formidable actor.
Prospect Theatre is an English
company founded in Cambridge by Toby Robertson and Richard Cottrell. In
1968 they decided to revive Shakespeare’s Richard II this time accompany
it with a production of Marlowe’s Edward II.
