The brown and white sign on the A2 didn't promise too much. The "historical old town of Rinteln" lives up to its name. Centuries-old half-timbered town houses are not scattered as in many places, but surround the market square as closed rows. However, the most magnificent building on site is the Ratskeller, behind whose Weser Renaissance facade the bistro "Der Stadtkater" invites you to tarte flambée, burgers and house beer.
