This is a factory sealed product. It is from 2004 and the batteries still work.  You may need to replace them. UPON REQUEST, I will remove the tab and make sure the unit works so you won't need to return it for any reason.   I will attempt to but the tab back in to block the connection.   Just let me know if you want me to check it for you.
