This item is a framed United States historical engraving print called, "PRINCIPAL FRONT OF THE CAPITOL WASHINGTON".

The bottom on the right and left have the signatures of the two contributing artists, W.H. Bartlett on the bottom left and R. Brandard on the bottom right.

This item is a highly decorative steel line engraving after a drawing by William Henry Bartlett. 

This fine plate was produced to accompany the "American Scenery" series, originally published in London 1837-39. 

The actual print size measures approx. 125 mm tall x 180 mm wide. 

Both this engraving from circa 1838 and the professional framing from 1955 are in pristine mint condition.
