Your sheepskin rug is a natural product and if looked after properly you will be able to enjoy the comfort and softness for many years. Sheepskin fibres stick together and flatten down while traveling and packed. After receiving your rug give it a good shake outside to awaken the lift the wool fibres. Your purchased product is a natural, recently tanned brand new item so it will have a certain smell which intensity will diminish with airing, usage and time.

All natural hide shed some fur and is completely normal. Fibre shedding after first installation to it’s new place is quiet common and you might think it will be loosing all it’s fur content and your sheepskin is going to end up going bold – relax it will not. After a few weeks you will find that your rug will settle down and wool will stay remain nice and dense as was original.

Take your rug outside once a week and give it a nice and well shake to remove dust and dirt and brush it over with a common pet brush. You’re going to wonder how much these simply steps effective.
If your sheepskin rug is placed on a high traffic area do not be rest to go through the cleaning procedure a bit more often and your rug will serve you for a very long time.

Do not brush your rug if comes in original curly state otherwise might lose it.

Washing machine / Hand wash cleaning?

To give a washing machine or hand wash clean to genuine sheepskin rug is not advised by us.
You can’t expect it to look exactly the same afterwards even if all steps made it by the book.

Spot Cleaning

If very need use a special sheepskin detergent above and mix with water to create foam. Take a clean cloth and rub away any stains. Please watch to use the minimum water you can.

Do not use rug until dry completely.
Always dry naturally!
Do Not! – dry on radiator, tumble dry, place on direct sunshine


Wool detergents are not recommended for the washing of sheepskins as they may contain chelating agents, phosphates, alkali, bleach, phosphoric acid enzymes... etc. All are harmful to leather and should not be used.

REINDEER RUG CARE

Reindeer hide is "shedding" bit more than most other hides and it’s absolutely normal. Fibre shedding after first installation to it’s new place is quiet common. After a few weeks you will find that your hide will settle down and hair will stay remain nice and dense as was original.

The reindeer fur has special characteristic it does not shed really it rather brakes.
There are numerous air cells in them hair which makes them perfect to insulate at North Tundra region but at the same time that makes it fragile - hence they are offered mainly for decoration purpose instead of use in high traffic area or at busy seat.

They are very environmental sensitive and if get placed where humidity or temperature is out of normal interval or having an intense mechanical impact they might develop shedding (due to the fibre structure mentioned above)

Do not
- place near extreme heat like in front of fire, near a radiator or on floors with under floor heating.
- allow pets to become too attached to your pelt, they love to dig out the hairs

Reindeer hide is not washable at all!

To remove any dust and dirt shake the hide gently once a week outside or use a low setting on your vacuum cleaner and gently vacuum hide from head to feet.

If you care and look after your reindeer hide it will last for many years always looking good, giving you great pleasure and satisfaction.
