Sodalite

Do you find it hard to express yourself to others? Do you know what you want to say, but can’t find the words to say it? Have you been holding back from sharing your truth out of fear? If you’ve lost your voice in the metaphorical sense, a Sodalite stone is exactly what you need to reclaim your voice and step into your power.

Sodalite Healing Properties

The Sodalite properties are a result of the stone’s connection to the throat and third eye chakras. The deep, rich blue coloration of the stone also gives it a soothing and calming energy, which helps to put your spirit at ease. This specific combination of energies makes the energy of the Sodalite meaning an ideal healing tool for anyone looking to enhance their spiritual growth, strengthen their self-expression, or tap into their intuition.

One of the best ways to connect with the Sodalite crystal meaning is through meditation or placing the stone close to your body, especially your third eye or throat chakras to balance and clear any blockages in these energy centers. By clearing blockages in these spaces, you can access your voice and tap into your inner wisdom.

History & Lore

Sodalite is a popular stone for jewelry because it is both abundant and easy to carve. Sodalite is often mistaken for Lapis Lazuli, because of its rich blue tone. As early as 2500 B.C., Sodalite was being traded by the Caral people of Peru, as well as by the indigenous people of Tiwanaku in modern-day Bolivia.

The Sodalite meaning gets its name from the rich sodium content within the stone. It gained popularity as an ornamental stone in 1891 when deposits were found in Ontario, Canada. Because these deposits were discovered at the same time as a visit from the royal family, in Canada Sodalite is sometimes referred to as Princess Blue.

Origin & Regionality

Sodalite is found in Canada, Germany, India, Russia, and the United States.
