INTRO: The Altered Dominant Scale

The altered dominant scale offers a choice of extra colour and opens up the world of improvisation like no other scale.
The improviser has total control of the options on offer: he/ she can determine the amount of tension to be created by his/ her choice of 'altered' notes.
Another often unforeseen benefit is that the (discordant) tension notes are more pleasingly resolved on arrival of the tonic chord than would happen if using a diatonic mode progression.
