Manning Bowman Electroplate
Silverplate Teapot Art Nouveau Marked
For consideration is this
vintage electroplate silverplate teapot with a hinged lid made by Manning,
Bowman & Co., in Art Nouveau style pre-1945. The spout, handle, lid and
shoulder of the pot a beautifully decorated. It measures 7 inches tall, the
mouth measures 3 inches in diameter, 9½ inches from spout to handle and the
base measures 4 inches in diameter. It has been lightly cleaned with Simichrome
Polish but could use a silver polishing by the new owner. The base is marked
“Manning, Bowman & Co.”, then the number “3” and “Pat’d Jan. 24, 1899.” Information
about the patent has been researched and printed and will be included with this
teapot. There are a few slight dings on the base and staining on the inside of
the pot. This is a delightfully lovely vintage teapot with acceptable signs of
wear. Buyer will pay shipping on a 3 pound box. Thank you for looking!
