This early and very heavy aluminum streamlined RELAX-IT massager is a classic of the Late Deco-Moderne era with its bullet form, outstanding horizontal louvers front and back and the wonderful handle – with the blue rubber wheels it looks like a 40’s INDY race-car. This piece, Model 700, was made on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California – probably pre-1950. The massager is 7” long and 6” to the top of the handle and it weighs OVER 5 POUNDS. The wire is a bit shaky so it has not been plugged in. I have seen other examples of a Relax-It massager in later styles and materials but I have never seen this rare and edgy design in solid aluminum. The man from whom this was acquired said it was very rare and possibly a Loewy creation but I have no further info on that. A great design and an attractive collectable which I have had for several years -  buyer pays 24.95 safe bubble shipping, tracking and Insurance in USA
