Dr. Jurati's laser tool from Star Trek Picard is an actual 21st Century laser pointer

It was featured in Season 2, Episode 2 "Penance" where Picard and crew are transported to an alternate timeline in 2400. Dr. Jurti uses the laser to alter the combadge to get through security.

The Prop guys used a found item rather than having to fabricate one from scratch. The fact that it is a working laser pointer also saved on having to add SFX to create the beam.

This is the same type that was used on the show but is not a screen used prop.
