Grading vintage stamps, First Day Covers (FDC’s) is a subjective process.

As a philatelist, I do my best to put a fair value on items at a bargain price!

I do careful research before listing an item in order to determine an honest price.

I determine the value of vintage stamps & FDC’s by using the Scott Catalog AND by

the age, the rarity, the condition, the country, and the interest of the item’s subject.

German Weimar Republic

(1918-1933)

Country in Europe

The Weimar Republic, officially named the German Reich, was the government of Germany from 1918 to 1933, during which it was a constitutional federal republic for the first time in history; hence it is also referred to, and unofficially proclaimed itself, as the German Republic. Wikipedia

German Adler (eagle) Definitives

Following the revolutions of 1848 in the German states, the Reichsadler (imperial eagle) was restored as a symbol of national unity: it became the coat of arms of the short-lived German Empire and subsequently the German Confederation from its restoration in 1850 until its dissolution in 1866. It was once again restored in 1871 when a single-headed eagle with a Prussian inescutcheon (heraldry a small shield-shaped charge in the centre of a shield) became the insignia of the German Empire; the single head was used to represent the so-called Kleindeutschland (Little Germany), i.e. it excluded Austria. After World War I the Weimar Republic under President Friedrich Ebert assumed a plain version of the Reichsadler, which remained in use until 1935. Wikipedia
