Marie Laurencin was a French painter and printmaker who was an important figure in the Parisian avant-garde as a member of the Cubists associated with the Section d'Or. She was also known for her delicate depictions of young women in idyllic landscapes, using muted pinks, dove grays, and mint greens to create dreamlike visions of reality.
