  • Yo-Yo replacement string packs date back to the 1920's, probably first produced by the Flores Yo-Yo Company, or the Duncan Yo-Yo Company. The early string  packs were mostly made from glassine paper. 

  • Glassine is not glass, nor is it wax paper, plastic or parchment. Rather, it is smooth, semi-gloss paper that is semi-transparent. It allows what is inside to show through. It is pH neutral and acid free. Because it is made from wood pulp, it is fully recyclable and biodegradable.

  • The Cajun Spinner's Yeaux-Yeaux glassine string pack is a nod to the past when there were more yo-yos in America then there were people! My hope is this will bring back some great memories for our hobby's senior collectors, and most importantly generate some interest with the younger yo-yo community and encourage them to learn about and collect some of the great old vintage collectibles from our hobby's past.

  • John “Doc Lucky” Meisenheimer, Jr, is the author of Lucky's Collectors Guide to 20th Century Yo-Yos: History & Values, the “bible” of yo-yo history and collecting. On his monthly Facebook show Doc Lucky’s Yo-Yo Talk, Episode 66 (02/03/23) said of the new Cajun Spinner’s Yeaux-Yeaux:

    “A beautiful line of fixed axle yo-yos, and I will tell you these look like they’re going to be highly collectible in the future.”

    And Lucky said of the Midnight Lightning Yeaux-Yeaux, “They were gorgeous. I think those yo-yos are fantastic. They are all very displayable yo-yos and that adds kind of the third ‘Lightning’ now that people need to add (to their collection) if they are going to have all three of the ‘Lightnings’.” The other two he was referring to were the 1950’s Duncan Litening, and the 1990’s Franklin Mint Duncan Litening reproduction.

    Of the Cajun Spinner’s Yeaux-Yeaux in general he said, “Pick up a set of these.”

CAJUN SPINNER'S HISTORY: 

  • As the sole-proprietor I launched Cajun Spinner's Yeaux-Yeaux Company on February 02, 2023, to produce in limited quantities quality handcrafted classic wooden, fixed axle yo-yos, honoring the hobby's magical history, with a twist from my Cajun heritage.

    For almost 30 years I have been an avid collector of vintage, wooden yo-yos and a big fan of the wonderfully creative, generous and talented yo-yo community. This release is the culmination of a dream to make a lasting contribution to our hobby and sport. There is no factory where my yeaux-yeaux's are created, just my imagination, a lathe, and my garage where I cut, sand, paint, inspect and test every yeaux-yeaux before sending it out with a big smile and a lot of love.

    The initial plan was that after the 4-yeaux-yeaux inaugural launch February 02, 2023, a new yeaux-yeaux (pronounced, "yo-yo") will be introduced every month-or-so, made available exclusively through eBay.
