Description:

This is a fine German Bauhaus Art Deco Glass Lamp designed by Karl Weidermann*.
It dates to around the 1930´s and was made by WMF in Germany and known as an Ikora Lamp.
It is a flattened cilinder shape with long neck.
Has a very striated and mottled glass finish, the main body colour is made of streaks of tangerine / orange with ochre-coloured the veining of the glass is just quite lovely.
The lamp have the original extendable chromed stem with two baquelite lamps socket on top. There is a fitting and also a light bulb inside the glass base section. You can access this by unscrewing the chrome stem (see the pictre please).These original WMF lamps are now highly sought after - and often you might find only the glass body section without any of the chrome fittings. It certainly looks amazing all lit up inside with a rich glow. The lamp have two bakelite on-off switch to indistinctly turn the upper lights or the interior light.
It does not come with a shade, but should be easy for you to source an appropriate shade to your own taste.

*WMF Ikora -WMF was primarily a metal foundry but had been producing glass for over 100 years. Their major period of importance was from 1926-1936. Karl Weidmann joined the company as a young designer and maker and was the prime mover behind glass technology at WMF.

He developed Myra glass followed by Ikora which was originally discovered as an experiment when trying to repair a piece of Myra glass with clear glass.

Very good near excellent original condition. The chomed are lost y some areas.

All accessories are original and are in working order.
