- Guppy grass, (Najas guadalupensis), is a fast-growing water column feeding plant that removes heavy metals, toxins, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates from the water while producing oxygen. It consumes almost every free nutrient in the tank, giving little opportunity for algae growth. It can be free floating, anchored down, or rooted into substrate. It's one of the best plants for barebottom tanks! Guppy grass is loved by small prey fish, bettas, fish fry, and shrimp. They will cling, sleep, and eat in it.🌿
