Tygra Crafts Celtic Designs 1998 Ireland Chalkware Wall Plaque Bird Book of Kells.

A Ceramic/Chalkware wall plaque from Ireland - Tygra Crafts. Bird, Book of Kells, created in Iona in the monastery scriptorium. Birds travel freely between heaven and earth, they are possessors of secrets, heavenly messengers. Eagles can look at the sun, signifying prophecy, storks bring souls to earth, owls know the secrets of the night, while nightingales and doves hold the secrets of love. "I would that we were, my beloved, while birds on the foam of the sea." W.B. Yeats. designed by the Irish artist Kathleen Smyth from the Book of Kells and cast by hand in Ireland.

Excellent Condition. No Chips or Cracks. There is some "scuffing" on the left side (see photo). This is a very fragile chalkware which does chip easily so was kept in a display case to preserve. Smoke Free Home.
