Vintage 1940s to early 1950's era Art Deco Ebony Beaded Box Evening Bag. Outer material: iridescent, predominantly black glass beads. Frame appears to be deep amber Bakelite. Hinged top with strong brass/gold tone clasp. Inside, this classy, dressy, Luxury Evening Bag's label reads: An M.E. Product.

Interesting background about manufacturers. Their motto, or logo, was: "An M.E. Product ~ It speaks for itself." Morty Edelstein was the M.E. part of team. His partner was Ferdinand/Fred Metter. They split in 1951. Morty went on to work for Llewelyn Lucite, then formed his own handbag company, Patricia of Florida, named for his wife. Don't quote me. Found in searching this fun, fabulous item.

Note: Missing inside mirror. Also inside, loose threads which should not effect wear. Outside, TOP has some schmutz, possibly old tape residue (see last few fotos). May come off with remover. Also, top has minor scratche(s) consistent with age. Priced accordingly.
