Logan was served in both the Mexican-American War and as a Union general in the Civil War. He served in both houses of Congress before and after the war. While an 1887 Chicago edition of this book is fairly common in commerce, this first edition is less so. "Logan himself furnish much of the material [for this biography]" CWB II, 51.
