In July 1973, it was replaced by the ''Quartz-404'' radio receiver, and from the beginning of 1974 by the ''Quartz-405'' radio receiver, while the production of the ''Quartz-404'' model continued until 1982, and in 1979 in connection with the assignment of Olympic symbols to the radio receiver, it was modernized into the ''Quartz-404M'' receiver, in 1980, instead of the letter ''M'', the receiver was given the name ''Quartz-404'' Olympic. The models are built on the basis of the ''Sokol-403'' radio receiver, have the same electrical and wiring diagrams and differ only in external design. They operate on the LW and MW bands. Reception is made on an internal magnetic or, if necessary, on an external antenna. Sensitivity to the internal antenna is 3.0 mV/m in the LW range and 1.0 mV/m in the MW. Selectivity in the adjacent channel is 20 dB in the LW range and 16 dB in the MW, attenuation of the image channel is 20 dB. AGC provides a change in the signal voltage at the output by 10 dB, with a change at the input by 26 dB. The range of manual volume control is -40 dB. Sound frequency range 450...3150 Hz, average sound pressure 0.15 N/m2, rated output power 100 mW. Powered by a ''Krona'' type battery or a 7D-0.1 battery. The performance of the receivers is maintained when the voltage drops to 5.6 V. The dimensions of the receivers are 170 x 100 x 40 mm, their weight is 480 grams. The Quartz-404 radio receiver was produced in three color options. The main black, but there were red and blue options. The cover had two design options.
