Chaeto is great to use in addition to other filter media. Chaeto helps to absorb excess nutrients such as feeds on dissolved organic waste, ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates and Phosphates helping to keep your tank clean. A proper refugium growing macroalgae like Chaetomorpha will rapidly consume excess carbon dioxide from the water, reducing carbonic acid and raising the pH level.
This macro algae is one of the hardiest beginners algea's. Great for introducing into marine aquariums. As a nutrient exporter, it absorbs, or feeds on dissolved organic waste. This alga thrives on fish waste, nitrates, & phosphates. These dangerous biochemicals that we constantly strive to keep down in our saltwater aquariums, which are poison to our fish and invertebrates, are the food that this alga consumes. In turn, this it is a big contributor to maintaining a healthy aquarium system for our captive kept animals. So, you can say it helps along with our protein skimmers to purify our water naturally. Introducing this macro algae is a natural way of maintaining good water quality for our corals also. |
Care & Application
This Chaeto is very healthy and will grow quickly. It is recommended to place in a Sump, Refugium, in the back of an All In One Tank or in an Algae Reactor. Wherever it is placed, Chaeto requires a light source as it is a plant. Recommended 25W bulb or LED's will be sufficient for Chaeto to grow with a 12-hour photo period.

Cheato does not grow roots. This is excellent since you can add this Marine Macroalga directly to your display tank, place in a Refugium/Sump or use in an Algae Reactor. Wherever do do place it, just make sure the Cheato has waterflow, light for 12 hours per day (recommended) and the appropriate water parameters are met.

If your Chaeto arrives DOA, your order will be refunded. There are a couple of things that must meet qualifications.
1)The package must be handed to someone to inspect the Chaeto on the FIRST DELIVERY attempt.
2) Must notify me within 2 hours of Delivery of DoA (Dead Upon Arrival) with pictures of Chaeto and original packaging.
Shipping is nonrefundable. Packages shipped to a hold facility must be picked up within the first 2 hours of item arrival or guarantee is void. Ships to lower 48 States only.
