- The Panasonic DVD-RP91 (MPN DVD-RP91N) is a progressive-scan DVD player that is used with HDTVs but since the progressive scan function can be turned off, this Panasonic DVD player can be used with low-end television sets as well. With built-in Dolby Digital and DTS DACs, the Panasonic DVD-RP91 decodes both formats up to 192 kHz signals and offers 96 kHz in six channels. Besides reproduction of CDs, this Panasonic DVD player with added six-channel input on the receiver, amp, or processor has CD playback capabilities and supports a wide variety of audio formats. This tabletop progressive-scan DVD player plays DVDs, CD-R/RW, DVD-RAM, and DVD-Audios and picture modes such as widescreen, letterbox, and normal are supported by its technology. Numerous connection options such as component, composite, and S-Video outputs, SPDIF outputs on the front and rear panels of the device for home theater setup, a headphone jack, audio line-out, and 5.1-channel audio line-out allow connections with several other devices. This Panasonic DVD player weighs 7.7 lbs (3.5 kg) and measures 3.9 inches in height by 16.9 inches in width by 10.4 inches in depth.
