Title: SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE ADJUTANT AND INSPECTOR GENERAL'S OFFICE, CONFEDERATE STATES, 1861
Publication: [Washington]: c. 1885

Description: Hard Cover. Very Good binding.

Octavo. 318, [2], 101 (index). In later beige buckram with front wrapper bound in, rear wrapper lacking; final leaf is worn and soiled and has early tape repairs to the inner and bottom margins.

Covers the period March 7, 1861 to October 25, 1861. Originally published as a five volume set, ostensibly covering the five calendar years of the war, and according to Nicholson, published between 1885 and 1887 and is one of 20 copies. Extremely uncommon particularly given half of the edition appears to be in institutional holdings (OCLC 3522347). Needless to say, remarkably uncommon in the trade. Nicholson p. 30.
