Thats right! A free bottle of our specially formulated 3D printer bed FUBAR GLUE !!

This Newly created product is manufactured in the USA. Our NYLON 12 Filament is a high strength, flexible, durable polymer. Other filaments sold in the “Nylon” category are co-polymers made from several materials and using additives for stability and as a binder. They work great and have their own unique qualities. Our material does not incorporate “other” materials. It is processed using only Nylon 12 and provides additional characteristics for 3D printed projects.

Nylon 12 is one of the “newest” Nylons being used in 3D printing. Although used for years as a material in machined parts and more recently for SLS rapid prototyping of parts, it is an excellent material for use in 3D printers.

The vast amount of products and uses include; metal coatings, cosmetics, packaging materials in the food and pharmaceutical industries, automotive applications, sports equipment, hoses and now 3D Printing.

Although it is not as widely used as its predecessor Nylon 6-6, this polymer has excellent physical properties that make it truly beneficial in many ways. Technically it contains less organic compounds (amides) that help prevent issues found in other nylon compounds.

• One of the foremost complaints when using other nylon filaments is the absorption of moisture. Whether in the original raw material before extrusion or after sitting in a finished product “Filament Material” moisture can cause end use problems while using it for printing. Because of the long “hydrocarbon chain length” found in processed Nylon 12, it absorbs very little moisture. Table 1 provides comparisons of Nylon 12 to other Nylons.

Table 1 - Absorption of Moisture by Nylons by Weight %

50% R.H. and Saturation @ 23°C

Type of Material     Equilibrium @ 50% R.H.     Equilibrium @ Saturation

PLA                                             -                                        6 - 8

6                                                2.7                                      9.5

6/6                                             2.5                                      8.0

6/10                                           1.5                                      3.5

6/12                                           1.3                                      3.0

11                                              0.8                                      1.9

12                                              0.7                                      1.4

The lower the absorption rate the better for you when printing.

• It absorbs very little moisture, which allows components made from Nylon 12 to retain a high degree of dimensional stability, even in environments with fluctuating humidity levels.

• Even when temperatures dip below freezing, Nylon 12 retains excellent impact and non-impact strength.

• It features excellent resistance to chemicals, including hydraulic fluids, oil, fuels, grease, salt water and solvents.

• Nylon 12 has exceptionally strong resistance to cracking under stress, including instances when it encapsulates metal components.

• It provides excellent resistance to abrasion.

• Nylon 12 has a very low coefficient of friction when compared to many other materials.

• It dampens noise and vibration.

• Even when placed under a cyclical load, Nylon 12 remains incredibly fatigue resistant.

As with All Filament it should be keep in a clean dry area for best results.

CHALLENGE

One of the greatest challenges the 3d printing community is trying to solve is keeping 3d prints on the printer build bed. This is known as shrinkage or warping. As a 3d printer enthusiast, I’m sure you have had to deal with this already.

HISTORY

After hearing about and reading about so many complaints, our customers asked us to help them to get rid of having to use all of the “stuff” they’ve been putting on their printer beds to keep their prints on the bed and stop lifting and warping. We have done just that, creating FUBAR GLUE…. And it is available under separate EBAY listings!!!

FUBAR GLUE was formulated and developed for our Nylon 12 Filament, but testing by our customers found that it works great on just about any filament available for use. ABS, PLA, PET, NYLON, NYLON 12, PP and lots of others all worked great with our product. They no longer needed to use painter’s tape, Kapton tape, Buildtac, their own glue concoction (Acetone mixed with whatever filament they were using – HIGHLY FLAMMABLE), Aqua Net hair spray (just as FLAMMABLE), Garolite beds and the list goes on. Our non-toxic glue replaces all these materials and works on glass, aluminum, Garolite if you want and just about any other materials our customers have used. It is also non-toxic and available in several sizes.

USING FUBAR GLUE

Print beds come in many sizes, shapes and materials. One of the most common sizes is a bed measuring approximately 8″x8″ and it is a heated bed. When printing with Nylon 12 and many other filaments you need to use a heated bed.

If printing on the entire bed: Coat the entire bed with up to 20-25 drops or less of Fubar Glue. The thinner the coat the better.

If not printing across the entire bed: Use enough glue to cover the bed under the area where you will be printing.

In either case, take a plastic scraper (which we supply free anyway) and spread it evenly on the entire bed or where you will be printing. Let the glue dry completely. (It will be almost 100% clear when completely dry.) That’s it! Then increase the bed temperature to 95-100°C if using a heated bed. (Note: Depending on the material you are using, for example PLA, many printers don’t even have a heated bed but still need an “adhesive” to stop the prints from moving, lifting or warping. So don’t forget to use some even when not using Nylon 12 filament!) Nozzle temperature for running Nylon 12 should be 240-265°C depending on speed and equipment capabilities and other printer settings. When your print is complete, turn off the heated bed temperature and this will make it much easier to remove.

We have tested/printed on one coating of glue upwards of 25 times and not had to remove and replace it. We would add several drops of warm water to the existing coating on the bed, then lightly wipe the material around the platform bed to recoat the surface. The parts weren’t complex but worked just fine. For more complex pieces 10+ prints on the same coating were not uncommon. The glue dissolves readily in a little warm water. It will loosen the part and you will be able to remove it quite easily from the bed if you need too. Your overall experience may certainly differ due to experience level, machine, filament used, temperature settings, and even room and material conditions. Our experiences may differ completely from yours.

It’s inexpensive and easy to work with.
