With most of my experience coming from real dirt riding experience, both hard enduro and motocross, I wasn't a huge fan that my V-Strom doesn't have the functionality to disable the ABS. Even on double tracks or gravel, every dirt rider knows you can't control the bike as intended with the ABS on. 

That's why I took matters into my own hands and personally designed, crafted, and manufactured an ABS switch that fits perfectly on the Vstrom 1000 and created another flavor for the Vstrom 650

 

After tirelessly testing numerous options available in the market without finding a satisfactory answer, I decided to create a solution myself. This custom waterproof ABS switch is the result of my dedication to enhancing the safety and control of your Vstrom 1000. With this ABS switch installed, you'll have the freedom to activate or deactivate the ABS system according to your riding preferences and (off)road conditions. ·      Tested on the 2014-2018 1000 model which I own, but I’ve also created and tested myself a flavor for Vstrom 650 Gen 1 and Gen 2 (and also tested for more than a few hundred miles on rented bikes)

·      It is also compatible with any bike using a low-profile mini fuse for the ABS motor. Feel free to ask if unsure.

·      The kit includes all the necessary components, eliminating the need for additional purchases.

·      The ABS switch keeps the state it is set. Meaning it remains deactivated until you manually activate it using the switch, regardless of starting cycles. (Or activated)

*** Pay attention this handlebar switch is designed for non far bars, if you have a fat bar like on the 2018XT you will have to mount it elsewhere, like on the side of the bike or the mirror extender***
