You need a ‘Cheb head’ – essentially a ball weight with a slot inside that has a removable clip. You push the clip out and thread on the weedless hook. You need to find ‘big eye’ weedless hooks (personally I love the range from Gurza) so that they thread onto the clip easily. You can find the Cheb heads from many different brands, for example Spro or Street Fishing London. I prefer ones made of tungsten (they are smaller than lead heads but still the same weight) but overall that shouldn’t make a huge amount of difference to your fishing. The Chebs come in various weights and I’m finding myself using this rig a lot at the moment. Like all of the options listed here, these can be scaled up or down depending on your target species.
