Incredible, working Atmos desk clock gifted to Major James McDivitt by the People of Michigan after his historic Gemini Mission in 1965. The inscription on the clock reads:

Major James A. McDivitt 1015 6365 - 1213 6.7.65

The Time Our Hearts Were With You In Space

--The People of Michigan--

James McDivitt was born in Illinois, but he grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and studied Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Michigan.

Purchased from his estate in Tucson. James McDivitt actually developed the digital clock that was used on the Gemini missions, according to an oral history account on NASA's website:

I am going to add more detail, but need some time to wrap my mind around the story of the whole thing. I am rather fond of this clock and am only selling it because I can't really afford not to. I still can't believe that I have had the amazing opportunity to own some of the things James McDivitt collected/received through the course of his life and his time with the Air Force and NASA.

Because of the delicate nature of the clock, which self-winds through changes in atmospheric pressure, I plan on delivering the clock to the buyer myself if possible, but will also look into other shipping services, and am willing to work with the buyer to find a method that works for both of us.

International buyers will have to foot any additional cost that comes along with delivering the clock.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!
