I have a D. Peres Solingen letter opener. It depicts the U S Capitol, Washington Monument, and White House on one side and George Washington's tomb, Mount Vernon, and the bust of George Washington on the other side. My camera did not take very good close-ups, but it is nicely engraved with lots of details in relief. It is signed D. Peres Solingen, Germany and has a keg logo as well. I imagine this was made as a D C souvenir or a Washington souvenir. I'm not sure what it is made from, but it is a silver metal. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and can still be used today!
