A charming antique early 19th century Staffordshire pottery Pearlware bocage flat back model of a recumbent fallow doe deer. The deer modelled in a recumbent position on a bed of foliage and scrolls with flowering bush behind. Nicely painted with a characterful expression and wonderful fingerprint spots across the body of the deer.

Approximately 11.5cm high at tallest point and base 10cm at longest points.

The bocage with restoration to the top section and one leaf with a loss to the tip, small chips to the tips of both ears one of which has been repainted, some small rubs/losses to the paint and light marks and wear but these do not detract. The glaze has lightly crazed on the white areas as is common with these models and expected with age. A charming figure that displays very well. Please be guided by the photographs for condition and please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
