4992B Master Navigation / Bomber Timer Watch


These very special Master Navigation & bombing timer / watches were used for many Military missions, but none more important than aboard the B-24 Liberator Consolidated Heavy Bombers


The B-24 Heavy Bombers were instrumental in turning the tide in the Allies winning WW2. When the Germans were shelling our bombers with anti-aircraft guns, it caused severe explosions & vibration. The spring suspended shock canisters absorbed the concussions of the anti-aircraft weapons!! There are quite a few Hamilton 4992B watches that have survived. However, we could only find 4 available on the Internet!!

    

Antique / Vintage WW2 Military master navigation & Bomb Timer / Watch, 100% all original, Complete with seldom seen original factory U.S. Army Air Corps spring loaded suspension shock-proof Canister/case, 

American 16 size pocket watch case, or, 51.70mm (noy counting the stem, crown or hinged bow), The all original case is soft satin finish base metal with "reeded" or coin edge bezels with U.S. Military ORD. DEPT. numbers on the case back, 

This Military timepiece is powered by the original Hamilton 22 jewel, high grade, Model 5, Grade 4992B, Micrometer Regulator, Hack movement, 3/4 Nickel plates, Straight line Damaskeened, Fully adjusted to Heat, Cold & Isocronism and 6 positions, stem wind and stem set movement, 

The original factory Military dial is in MINT condition and features Military  flat black enameled background, with contrasting white enameled dial trim and white enameled hour, minute & sweep second hands, We have installed a proper MINT condition New Old Stock crystal. As well as having the seldom available shock protected canister . case to protect from anti-aircraft attacks,... we are also including a New Old Stock matching solid nickel  pocket watch chain should the new lucky owner wish to carry this Military watch in their watch pocket or vest.

We just did an Internet search before listing this item. We found only 4 of these 4992B watches that are complete with original factory spring suspension protective canister/case. They were priced at $1575, $2600, $3002 and $3010 respectively or an average price of $2547.
