Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Precision Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Professionally refinished by Copasetic Customs in Ocean Turquoise Metallic nitro lacquer, this P Bass retains largey original hardware, outfitted with new electronics.

Resonant and acoustically balanced at 8lbs 14oz, this Precision bass is strung with fresh 45-100 roundwound strings, loaded with a Fender Pure Vintage '62 black bobbin pickup. The instrument delivers a dynamically responsive and rich sound that can be both articulate and thick, and this alder-bodied example is ready to be the backbone of any ensemble. Professionally setup, we've had this vintage Fender Precision Bass dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with comfortable action and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a medium depth C-shaped profile carve with particularly full shoulders, offering both substance and ease of playability, measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and .975" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard is a nice dark cut with rolled fretboard edges, professionally refretted with flawless jumbo fretwire. The bass plays cleanly up the 34" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut has Fender's traditional "B" width of 1 5/8", and the nut has been upgraded to a hand-carved piece of bone for optimal resonance and note clarity. On the headstock, the original Precision Bass block logo is intact, and an extra string retainer mounting hole has been cleanly doweled. The set of vintage Fender tuning machines have uniform patina on their plating, offering smooth, reliable performance. The original four-bolt serialized F neck plate is intact, and the neck heel retains its bold August, 1969 date stamp.

All of the electronics work as they should, with the Fender Pure Vintage '62 black bobbin pickup wired to a modern harness with properly spec'd CTS pots. The body routes are clean and untouched, and hardware includes the original four saddle bridge, a modern pair of flat-topped knurled knobs, and a set of genuine Fender "ashtray" chrome bridge and pickup covers. The pickguard is an aged wide bevel parchment replacement, and the finger rest is vintage.

The pure nitro lacquer body-only refinish was applied by Copasetic Customs, splitting the difference between a greened out Lake Placid Blue and Ocean Turquoise Metallic. There is extremely restrained aging of the finish, encompassing some shallow simulated marks of wear on the back and body edges. The neck profile has an extremely smooth satin finish, oversprayed in the instrument's lifetime.

A modern Fender hardshell case is included (not pictured).
