The romance between Antony and Cleopatra might have changed the world. If Antony had succeeded in winning sole control of Rome with Cleopatra as his queen, He could have changed the course of the Roman Empire, making the world we live in today a different place. However, their relationship ended in mutual suicide in 30 BC, eleven years after it started, when Roman troops engulfed the Egyptian city of Alexandria and threatened their capture.
This coin shows Cleopatra and Mark Antony. Following the assassination of Julius Caesar who had been Cleopatra’s lover, Cleopatra and Mark Antony had an affair and then married having 2 children. Since Mark Antony had been married to Octavian’s sister, their union caused problem in Rome. It was clear that Octavian had more power than Mark Antony, and both Mark Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide separately.
 
Note: Cleopatra does not look very glamorous on this coin. She looks more like Mark Antony.
