Jacob Altusky was born in Bronx, New York, as the third child of Rabbi Judah Altusky (1892-1983) from Brest, Belarus (1921-1945: Poland) and Ruchama# (1904-1998) from Slutsk, Belarus, who married in 1923 in Bialystok, Poland. They immigrated to New York from Le Havre, France, in 1925. Jacob became a student at the Talmudical Academy* in Brooklyn (Yeshiva University High School for Boys)
