Paul Wunderlich (1927-2010) was a German artist known for his magical realist style, surrealist-influenced paintings, and erotically charged sculptures.

The painting reproduced on this poster is "Blume für Olympia" (A flower for Olympia), which makes references to Manet's famous work from 1863. The original image has been reversed, with geometric proportions overlaid and a flower added to the composition. In addition to his own imaginative paintings and prints, Wunderlich frequently drew inspiration from Old Master works - making reference to da Vinci's Mona Lisa, Manet's Déjeuner sur l'herbe, and Holbein's The Ambassadors among others.
