~*~ Hello and welcome to the Textile Trunk! Please follow us on Instagram, we are @textiletrunk ~*~

Such a gorgeous quilt cover! This lovely French duvet cover has a toile print and dates to around 1900. From what I can see, the print appears to be "L'escarpolette" which is French for "The Swing." The pattern depicts a young girl swinging while surrounded by scenes of life in the countryside. Such a lovely scene! This textile is constructed with a medium to heavy weight cotton fabric and it is machine stitched. It is a little worn which makes it extremely smooth to the touch!. There is a ruffled edge on this duvet cover. The bottom opens which allows you to insert a comforter or quilt into the center and has a button closure. This textile is a beautiful creamy almost yellow beige ground and the print is a deep burgundy. The pattern has faded into a gorgeous mauvy-burgundy color. Truly remarkable! We have several other pieces of this fabric in various forms in a set. Please search our shop for "L'escarpolette" to view the remaining textiles that match this one! Such a beautiful duvet cover, it would be perfect for use on a bed or for upholstery or pillow making projects! The opportunities are endless!

MEASUREMENTS: This lovely textile measures approximately:
Length: 49 inches (including the ruffle)
Width: 54 inches (including the ruffle)

CONDITION: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. There are some light storage marks, and age marks on this textile. There are some small holes I can see when this textile is held to the light. This pattern is slightly more faded than some of the other matching pieces in the set, but it is still a gorgeous textile! This textile is in wonderful condition for its age and use, however it is not without signs of time and use, inherent in antique textiles!
