A lovely antique French quilt dating from c1900 or just before ~ The front of this charming quilt is made of a cretonne weave ( thin warp and thick weft ) cotton. Lovely pattern! The backing is a paisley wool quilt and , as is the usual wear, the middle had a large hole of wear which is covered in a blue large patch! This can easily be removed and a more better blending patch added so easily! ~ The batting on this quilt is wool ~ all hand stitched and hand quilted ! These textiles made wonderful quilts, but also table covers, and look gorgeous displayed in a decorative way in a cupboard or similar! ~ they add so much charm to any period interior ~

MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approx. 83 inches by approx. 85 inches

CONDITION: This lovely textile is in as found , not freshly laundered condition~ The front is in wonderful condition! Very light signs of time and use, however the back has the large patches ( the large patch has come unstitched at the top) There are some marks on the backing and an L shaped tear and a few small holes ~ Lovely , but the back has signs of time and use, often inherent in these wonderful textiles and adds so much to the unique charm ! ~
