Hello and Welcome to the Textile Trunk!

This is a large and wonderful antique French curtain dating from circa 1870 to 1880. This textile is made of a sturdy, heavy weight silk damask with dark rose pink and gold toned stripes. The backing is a plain beige cotton. There is a lovely matching trim fringe on one long edge and on the backside of the bottom edge! There are 6 metal curtain rings at the top for hanging. there is a batting between the layers. Beautiful tones and such high quality fabric! ~ There are some holes in the bottom edge of this curtain, so it could perhaps be shortened to rid this curtain of flaws. Lovely for hanging as is, or for deconstruction for pillows, upholstery etc! ~*~ If you will be using this textile for the fabric, please get in touch because I do have another curtain like this in slightly better condition! ~ ( G 1190 )
