First Gen Firebird 1967 Vintage Men's T-Shirt

Description The first gen Firebird went on sale February 23, 1967 with five different engine options offered, each with slightly different trim levels. The highest performing model in 1967 was the Firebird 400 that came with a very respectable (for the time) 325 horsepower. Pontiac started out strong in the sales department that first year, and while total production of 82,560 was the lowest of any pony car that year (except the Plymouth Barracuda), it should be noted that sales didn’t begin until mid-season. While the Pontiac Firebird shared its F-body styling and other elements with its cousin, the Camaro, the cars are by no means identical. Much of the sheet metal is shared, but that’s where most of the similarities end. The split front grille was very Pontiac, as were the slit taillights that highly resembled those of the GTO. But the differences didn’t stop with the looks of the car. All five of the motors offered for the Firebird were exclusively made by Pontiac – no engines were shared between Firebird and the Camaro. And Pontiac wanted to highlight the engine options, and did so by selling the car as “five exciting versions,” even though the only two official models available were a hardtop and convertible version. To get the length, measure from the high shoulder point down to the bottom of the shirt. To get the width, measure approximately 1-inch below the armhole, across the chest, from seam to seam. While our tees are all made using premium, pre-shrunk, ring-spun cotton, there can be some shrinkage depending on your personal wash and dry cycles.
