Today we're offering a gorgeous, antique cranberry glass water set consisting of an 8.5" pitcher and two 4" tumblers, circa 1920's. These were made by Theodore Rossler of Germany using the "color cake" technique he accidentally discovered during WW1 when enamel paint was in short supply. One of his suppliers offered him some older, colored "cakes" instead and he played around with them until he discovered a way to melt and pour the color into molds to create his colorful, raised figures. His work was quite unique and was in production from 1920-30.

The set is made of cranberry glass with ribbed optic. The enameled maidens all seem to be carrying water but each of them are in different background scenes and are different women. The background scenes are done in gold and gold accent has been used around the rims and pitcher handle.

They are in very good condition. We only find one small fleabite chip on one tumbler rim.  with no cracks, chips or repairs we can find. There is a bit of enamel loss and gold loss here and there as pictured.

No hassle returns - buyer pays return shipping.
