Rare, late 1990’s John Galliano jacket featured on the Spring 1999 runway.

This jacket was a common archetype seen in innumerable John Galliano collections throughout the 1990's and thereafter in collections at Dior. It's easy to see why, as the feminine shaping and draping perfectly epitomizes the dramatics of 1930's fashion that Galliano sought to reappropriate in modernity.

This jacket was shown on the runway in green. The lapel on this jacket is longer on one side (asymmetrical) and draped and sewn in place in a dramatic shape. The sleeves are decorated with a long line of buttons.

The fit is slim and has a slight bar shape (hourglass figure). It would look smashing layered over a slip dress dress.

Shoulder to shoulder ~17.5-19 inches (sloped shoulders, unpadded). Sleeves ~22.5-23 inches (sloped shoulders). Armpit to armpit ~19 inches. 

Great condition. Minor wear to the external fabric throughout that consistent with the age. The internal seams have stretched a little. A little fading on the silk lining around the armpits. One armpit had a small repair (pictured).
