I'm selling a really gorgeous pair of antique scissors.

They are both clearly marked J.Rodgers and Sons, with the cross and star marks.

As far as i can tell, these are earlier examples by a famous English maker.

The simpler pair are button-hole scissors, so i'm told.

The other pair feel really rather special and delicate

I hadn't noticed the rust until I took the photos.

It is superficial, and im sure it would clean up.

And I can't tell you why they don't meet at the end?

They both have lived for many years in my mum's sewing box (they might well have belonged to my grandmother) in their old leather pouch.

I'm not sure what animal?

It's is very dry and slightly torn.

I'm not sure if the pouch was added over the years?

But it has kept them together and safe, so for now, this is how they go...

They measure 9.4 cm and 9 cm each, with the pouch being 12.5 cm long.

I will pack them very carefully for travel.
