The new Tobermory 12 Year Old was released to coincide with the re-opening of the distillery and vistor centre in 2019. This expression has been matured in American oak casks for 12 years before being bottled at 46.3% ABV. Sweet and delicate with flavours of honey, vanilla, tropical fruit, citrus, spice, and sea spray.
Nose - Sweet and fruity with honey, apple blossom, honeysuckle, orange, creamy pineapple and vanilla. Quite dense and a touch of something herbaceous
Palate - Lighter and with more freshness in the mouth. There's fresh citrus, apple and mango and a fresh cut grass note. There's still some honeyed sweetness, leading to creamy butter toffee and orange.
Finish - Ripe citrus notes persist, followed by woody spice and some increasingly-dry oak character.
