Useful properties of shiitake

In terms of nutritional value, this is a truly unique mushroom. It is rich in zinc, complex carbohydrates called polysaccharides, proteins from mushrooms contain all the essential amino acids needed in our diet, and they are rich in leucine and lysine.

Mushrooms are richer in amino acids than soybeans, beans, chestnuts or corn. Ergosterol was found in dried shiitake mushrooms. But surprisingly, shiitake mushrooms appear to produce vitamin D, ergosterol is converted to vitamin D if the mushrooms receive enough sunlight or artificial exposure to ultraviolet rays. The content of vitamin D in shiitake increases by 2.5 times already after 3 hours of exposure to sunlight on the mushroom.

The shiitake mushroom contains amino acids and fiber, which can reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 45%, accelerating its processing and removing its excess from the body. Shiitake is also able to lower blood sugar in diabetes and fight allergies. It favorably affects the work of almost all body systems. According to Chinese medicine, consumption of this mushroom increases resistance to stress and increases life expectancy.

Thus, shiitake mushrooms are used for high cholesterol in the blood; diseases associated with weakening of the immune system; viral infections; cardiovascular diseases; chronic fatigue syndrome and some forms of cancer, for example, stomach, prostate (only after consulting a doctor). For medicinal purposes, 6-16 g of dried shiitake mushrooms are usually used daily as soups or decoctions.

Due to the presence of cellulose and chitin (a nitrogen-containing polymer) in the cells of mushrooms, it is believed that eating them contributes to the removal of toxic, chemical and radioactive substances from the body.

In Japan, yogurt rich in potassium is made from these mushrooms, in European restaurants, shiitake has become an indispensable product due to its caramel smell and versatility of use

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GROWING FOREST MUSHROOMS

Planted in gardens, parks, forests, nurseries, greenhouses, flower beds, lawns, etc.
Fluff the ground under the tree so that a depression of 5-15 cm is formed, depending on the location of the roots near the surface of the soil.
Scatter the mycelium evenly over the entire fluffy surface.
Cover with garden (or forest) soil, mixed with any humus, in equal parts.
Sprinkle on top with the earth that was formed during fluffing with a recess.
Planting can be done at any time of the year and under any tree species.
Watering is carried out in dry times, often with a garden watering can or in another way, about 10 liters per 1 m2.
Mushrooms appear in spring and autumn, but for the first time not earlier than 5 months after planting. Sometimes the first harvest may not be until the next year.
The first harvest is 350-500g/m2, subsequent 3.5-4.5kg/m2.
The mycelium grows for many years, while the tree lives.
