Frouwien Visser (Soenveld) Ceramist from Holland is responsible for these whimsical tiles featuring a Dutch Man and Woman in traditional dress.
They are made of  red-baking Chamotte clay. The costumes represent the traditional garments of Volendam, North Holland, The Netherlands. 

The artist was born in 1944 in Leeuwarden. She took a few classes and taught herself the art of tile making, and became so successful that her art has been sought after since 1993, when she became a professional ceramist.

She has had many exhibits and publications of her work. 

The work is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and is wall-mountable.
Volendam is a village in North Holland in the Netherlands, in the municipality of Edam-Volendam. 
The town has about 22,000 inhabitants.

These tiles are slightly different in size. The Man is on a tile that measures 6.75' high by about 3 15/16: across at the widest point.
The Woman is on a tile that measures 7 1/4" high by about 3 11/16" across.
