Since the beginning of 1988, the portable radio receiver "Meridian-248" has been produced by the Kiev plant "Radiopribor". The receiver is designed for reception in the ranges of LW, MW, SW-1 9.5 ... 9.8 MHz; SW-2 11.7 ... 12.1 MHz and VHF-FM. Reception in the SW and VHF bands is carried out on a telescopic antenna, in the LW, MW on a magnetic one. The radio receiver is made according to a superheterodyne circuit with one frequency conversion and with a combined AM/FM path in the IF amplifier. Tuning accuracy in the VHF path is provided by the AFC system. The IF gain stages are covered by the AGC system. The receiver is powered by 4 AA elements, and the discharge of the elements is controlled by an LED that lights up when the voltage drops to 4 volts. There are sockets for an external power supply. The main characteristics of the RP: Sensitivity in the ranges: LW 2.0, MW 1.2, SW-1, SW-2 0.5 mV/m, VHF 100 μV. Single-signal selectivity in the adjacent channel, with a local oscillator detuning of plus or minus 9 kHz - 26 dB. Harmonic coefficient in the path: AM - 5%, in the FM - 3%. The range of sound frequencies effectively reproduced by the sound pressure of the path: AM - 315 ... 3150 Hz, FM - 315 ... 6300 Hz. Current consumption without signal is not more than 30 mA. The maximum output power of the AF is 0.45 watts. Receiver dimensions 210x41x116 mm. Weight without batteries - 500 grams.
