Description:  This is a metal sculpture created by welding together various pieces of scrap metal into a figure. The figure is that of a soldier or a policeman. He wears a necktie, a helmet on his head, epaulets on his shoulders, and a holster with pistol at his waist. He is in the process of saluting a superior officer.  The sculpture was welded by an artisan working in the famous Dakpogan Brothers (Calixte and Theodore) studio in Porto Novo, Benin, in West Africa. It was made ca. 2000 through 2006.
